The Leader
S.Lishenko is a leader and conductor of "Mogilev town cappella". He was born on 5 February 1962 in Orenburg (Russia). He graduated from Kazan' state conservatoire, the faculty of choral conductors (under the direction of assistant professor Tikhonova and professor Kazachkov) in 1986. In 2000 he completed a post-graduate course in conducting opera and symphony (under the direction of academician and professor Mansurov) in the same conservatoire.
He started his work in 1982. As a student he was in charge of amateur and professional groups. In 1987-1999 he was the leader and conductor of chamber choir in Gomel philharmonics.
For 10 years (1989-1989) he worked as a professor of music in Mogilev state university. Student choir founded by him many times became a laureate of various international and republican festivals such as "Student spring" in 1991, 1994, 1996, republican G.Shirma festival of academic choirs in 1992 and international festival "All Mighty God" in 1995.
Chamber choir (1989) and chamber orchestra (1993) were established at the initiative of S.Lishenko. They represented Mogilev abroad with honour performing concerts in Poland, France, Germany, Slovakia, Latvia, Bulgaria and Italy and received good coverage by the mass-media both local and international.
Chamber choir is an initiator of sacred music festivals (festival "Mogilev choral gathering" in honour of Archbishop George Kannisky). In 1990-1997 S.Lishenko was a director of a church choir in reconstructed Mogilev Orthodox cathedral. For his hard work he received the awards of Reverend Sergy Radonezhsky, the memorable medal "2000 years of Christianity" and the Diploma from Buelorussian patriarchy.
Due to professional skill, talent and enthusiasm of the leader the cappella became a laureate of several international and republican festivals: festival of academic choirs named after G.Shirma, festival of sacred music "All Mighty God", the XIV international festival of sacred music in Hainuvka and the VI International festival in Barchevo (Poland).
In order to revive cultural traditions and promotion of national and European classics for youth and amateurs "Mogilev town cappella" was founded in1998 and included choir and orchestra led by S.Lishenko. It received legal status in 2002.
Comprehensive activity of the leader made considerable contribution to promotion of musical culture in Mogilev and development of national executive skill.
Hard work, obsession, inexhaustible creativity, devotion to classical traditions, unselfishness and high responsibility are the main features of this talented musician and leader.
For this work S.Lishenko is recognized and highly respected by his colleagues and musicians.
He was awarded Diplomas by Mogilev Executive committee, town deputy council, received a memorable award from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Diploma from National Assembly for his contribution to the development of national culture.
